Good evolution of Canon's All-In-One Printer Series
I've been waiting for this printer to come out for quite some time. I previously used Canon's MP730 and completely loved it. This new version adds several great features, and after a few days of playing around with it, it has lived up to my high expectations.The MP830 is a bit shorter and wider than Canon's previous all-in-ones, and it looks a bit more "classy" with a black-on-black keypad and a color LCD screen. There are two paper trays: the main tray is an upright tray in the rear, and a pull-out tray is located on the bottom of the machine. My old 730 had a plastic cover that protected the paper in the vertical tray from dust, and that cover is no longer included. I live is a dusty area, and if the paper gets a layer of dust on it, that dust can collect on and clog the print head. To remedy this, I've decided to use the smaller pull out tray as my primary paper tray (you can select the primary paper tray with a button on the keypad).This printer uses...

not every charger works!
Let's face it, there are plenty of car charger plugs that don't, work but they're so cheap that they never get returned or get complaints. The contacts don't connect, they simply fall apart, or they run a voltage that's not compatible with the product you've plugged in and it overheats--sometimes with spectacular results. This dual USB plug is a proper plug. It's good quality, and sends the correct 5V charge through the dual USB ports to your Ipod, Iphone or other portable device. It also includes a pleasing LED light (not too bright) that let's you know it's connected. Highly recommended.

its pretty simple, you plug this in where you cigarette lighter or 12v power jack is in your car and voila you have two USB power plugs. works great for powering our two iPhones. the light on this is pretty bright (pro or con?) and the unit isn't very large (good for me, but maybe someone wants a huge usb plug?). part of it flips out so you have a handle to easily remove it from the power receptacle.

Great size, too bright
This product is a very small size and great for that. The light, however, is incredibly too bright, and can be somewhat distracting at night for driving. My place for it is near the center console gearshift in a Ford Escape, and it shines in the corner of my eye to the point where I will have to cover it up somehow.

Awesome
So, I don't use this as much as I would like to, but the times I have needed it it was a real life-saver. The solar panel will completely charge the built in battery, which will charge my phone twice before needing to be recharged. You can charge this battery from a regular power source, but the solar panel is nice if you camp, or live somewhere the power goes out frequently. Also, this is a good gift for the person who has everything because they probably haven't thought of this yet.

EVOPower works
I got this unit to charge my phone while on the go without access to power. Right out of the box the micro-usb adapter was bad, but the unit works flawlessly with a different cord. It will charge itself and my phone at the same time while in full sunlight. The phone is a motorola photon. I was hoping that it would charge the phone twice on a full charge, but I can only get one charge before the unit has to be placed in the sun or plugged in again, that is with the phone on and running. Other than the cord issue the unit has worked as advertised and it will charge itself to full charge in the sun. The instructions are rather vague but operation is fairly straight forward. The power button must be held to turn the unit on and it must be on to charge another device. When first switched on the lights indicate charge state. Anytime the unit is placed in enough light it will start charging the internal battery, as indicated by the charge lights lighting in ascending order.

Best One I Could Find
Okay. It isn't perfect. Installation isn't as easy as it should be. Instructions aren't as good as they should be. Some printers work with it, and apparently some don't.But go look at the ratings on all the other print servers. You'll see the same problems. I tried at least three others, and couldn't get any of them to work. I've been able to successfully get this print server to work with an Epson R300 (USB 1.1), a Canon MP830 all-in-one(USB 2, print only), and even a Lexmark Optra T610 laser printer(parallel, with a USB-to-parallel adapter from Belkin).Printer manufacturers have gone nuts with bi-directional information going back and forth between the printer and the computer. The result: really pretty printer drivers that give you loads of information and options, but depend on the printer being physically connected to the computer. DPR 1260 works for me -- here are some tips for setup
I have an HP Photosmart 2410xi AIO. Both printing and scanning work fine for me. I tried several print servers in the same price range unsuccessfully before I found this one, which I think is great.Based on the reviews, some out there are not so happy. I agree that the documentation for the DPR 1260 leaves much to be desired, so I thought I'd share some helpful tips:NETWORK SETUPI did not have problems with network setup like some others have reported. Maybe I'm just lucky?1) I think the trick is to start by just using the cable. Use it to connect the DPR 1260 to your *router* (NOT to your PC). Once you've upgraded firmware and got the printer set up, *then* you can switch to wireless.2) Some firmware versions for the server assign a manual IP address to the server and assume your router is using the 192.168.1.0 subnet (with mask 255.255.255.0). Silex C-6700WG and Canon MFP working as expected
I recently installed the Silex C-6700WG wired/wireless print server in my home network. Because my Canon MP610 printer is physically close to my router, I installed the C-6700WG using a wired connection.I ignored the product installation CD and instead downloaded the latest software and firmware update from the Silex America site ([...]). The CX User Software there (as of the date of this review) is version 3.7.1 (11/13/2009). That's what I installed on my two desktops which run Win XP Pro (SP3). Silex America warns that this version does NOT support Windows 7.On my laptop, which runs Windows 7 64-bit, I downloaded the software from the Silex Europe site ([...]). There, the CX User Software is version 3.8.0 (22.12.2009) which does support Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit).Printing, and in particular the Canon 'My Printer' software (ink level reporting, etc.) is working as expected. I didn't try to use the printer's scanning function.

Great Wireless Print Server for compatible products such as Canon D480
I am using this product with my Canon D480. This is a great wireless print server, compatible with a lot of printers, specifically my Canon D480. Silex, makes this print server, which is a brand of Canon. So the good thing is when you call Canon for any question, Canon will answer your question and help you install it, if you need any help. Otherwise, imagine if you have a Canon printer and you had a wireless print server of another company, how the tech support can say no to you right away and relieve themselves of responsibility and blame and pass the buck to the printer manufacturer, and the other will pass the buck to the wireless print server.Now for this print server, works perfectly fine in terms of responsiveness when you send a command. Works fine in case of range of as well. Where my wireless router is in the living room and the print server is in the last room, i.e 3 rooms away.In terms of software installation it is so easy, it only takes 3 minutes...

For Canon, buy this, not Linksys
The Silex installed easily and works flawlessly with my Canon multifunction laser printer. Do not take that as a 'given' for similar devices. I started by buying'Linksys Wireless-G PrintServer with Multifunction Printer Support' which ended up supporting printing only after using workarounds found on the web and it did NOT support the multifuntion aspects of my Canon at all.

It was love at first sight.
This thing ROCKS. It is so well thought out. It has everything I want in a marine stereo.I installed it a month ago and I am really hoping it holds up. I've gone through lots of boat stereos over the years but this looks like the last one I will ever buy.This unit does not have CD player in it which is a HUGE plus as far as I am concerned. CD players only last a season or two down here on the Texas Gulf coast. I wanted a stereo that had simple way to connect my iTouch/iPhone to the stereo. The Fusion IP600G makes it so easy. Flip down the gasketed face plate, push in the pod, flip up face plate and crank it. The pod is sealed in tight. No cables, no adaptors and no iPod sliding around on the deck.I also ordered the IP56 Remote Control. Even though the stereo is supposed to be very weather resistant, I mounted it in the console to keep it out of the weather. I mounted the remote control on the dash. Perfect for what we needed on our boat
I shopped and shopped and kept coming back to this model. I'm glad I did! With three separate zones independently controllable, it lets us manage volume for each area of our boat. The face looks plain when compared with others, but it really falls in line with modern industrial design (Apple, for example) and is easy to operate without studying the users guide.The internal amps are plenty powerful for the 6.5" Rockford Fosgate coaxial speakers we chose, actually much better than I expected.If I had one criticism it would be the lack of line level outputs for zones 1-2. The only way to use an amp with these zones is to use an amp with speaker-level inputs or add a speaker-level to line-level converter, neither of which are preferred methods. Again, since the on-board power is decent, it may eliminate my need to amp those channels anyway.Overall we are thrilled with the purchase and would highly recommend this unit to others.
