Fast steel at an incredible price
I have hundreds of tactical folders to compare this knife to and it stands up superbly. It's build quality is outstanding, opens quickly and easily, quality of the steel is adequate, the blade shape is attractive and useful, the grip is comfortable and much improved over earlier version (they had sand paper, current version has thin rubber inserts), and Kershaw's service and support is perfect. In my duty use in the military, I have used Blurs for several years and they always impress. For $55 you should buy several and give them as heirloom gifts. Other knives with these features and opening speed, including automatics like Microtech and ProTech, will cost three times as much. A great knife that will last forever with care.

Blur is Superb
It took me a minute to understand the right way to open this knife, it's not like the Chive or Leek. Once I did, OH YEAH; just push straight forward with your thumb and this thing is Black Lightning. The grip is such that you could hold onto the knife if it was covered in grease. I love all of Ken Onion's designs but this is the best one yet from Kershaw.

Blur might be the last thing they see
I hate to feed into the mentality that causes knifemakers to hype their blades as "tactical," because the last thing we need to give lawmakers is another excuse to heroically protect us by banning the tools we carry. But the first and last thing I have to say about the Ken Onion Tactical Blur is that it is one fearsome knife.A curved blade would be suited to your usual cutting and slicing applications, such as skinning mastodons and so on. This knife, on the other hand, has a chisel-like tanto point, which is ideal for thrusting effortlessly through beef ribs or car hoods. It would be equally at home cutting up cardboard boxes, linoleum flooring, or metal garbage cans.Technically, this isn't a switchblade. Switchblades are bad. We know this because our lawmakers have heroically protected us by effectively banning them at various levels. This is only an ordinary liner-lock knife with spring-assisted opening. But if I ever found a switchblade with the deployment...

This is a good work knife
The knife holds a good blade even after some abuse. The thumb button is a little small and a bit tough on the thumb after repeated openings but does open the knife very well. The textured handle provides a very good grip but works like sand paper on anything else in your pocket. If I lost it I would buy another one.

Excellent knife
This is an awesome knife, I've had it for a couple days already. I agree with everything the other reviewer said; the knife is sharp enough to shave with from the factory (not only that, if I try I can cut off the top layer of skin without making myself bleed). The SpeedSafe assisted opening makes opening this knife a real fast procedure. I hope I never have to use this knife defensively; I hope I only have to use it to cut the tape on packages, cut network cables, stuff like that. One very minor concern I have with it: the finish is very much like sandpaper. This makes it so that you WILL NOT lose your grip on it. The downside is that I wear this knife in the front pocket of my pants (using the pocket clip), and I'm worried that the abrasiveness of the finish will rub a hole on the inside of my pocket. Overall, it's not a big deal though, it's much better than my sometimes clumsy self dropping this knife into somebody's leg, or something bad like that.

Solid Knife
I had spent a couple weeks looking for a replacement for my kershaw whirlwind, which was a great knife and I had absolutely no complaints at all, but I eventually decided on the Blur. I liked the fact that the blur was available in S30V steel I had not owned one with this blade material yet but the majority of the reviews for this type of steel have been very promising. I don't think that you can find a better knife for the money. There is not any blade movement when locked, this is the main thing that makes me keep buying Kershaw knives, at least the assisted opening variety. Very sharp out of the box, very fast to open, grips well in your hand. Made in USA and backed by Kershaws lifetime warranty, how can you go wrong?

EDC BOSS
This knife is a BEAST. Almost everything about this knife is perfect. This is not my first Kershaw product, and probably won't be my last. However, this could be the last EDC folder I'll ever need. Its thin (only about .5 inches) and the t6 aluminum handle is light, yet feels sturdy and reliable. The grippy trac-tec inserts give the knife a great feel in your hand, and the peace of mind knowing it won't slip from your grip. I opted to pay the extra cash to get this bad boy in s30v, because of it's edge retention. It's probably not necessary since I'm not really abusing the knife, but you never know when the higher steel quality might come in handy. The assisted opening action on this guy is second to none and downright addictive. One you pop, the fun don't stop. And for all you California buyers, this knife, or any of the other Ken Onion Speedsafe knives are not illegal. The opening mechanism is a thumb stud located on the blade, which disqualifies it from being an illegal...

Alot faster than a Gerber assisted opening knife!
This is a well made USA knife. It has S30V knife steel, an aluminum handle with a rough finish grippy grip, & a very fast assisted opener. There is no wiggle or play anywhere when the blade is locked open, a liner lock & it has a limited lifetime guarantee! Even the thumb stud is slanted for when using the assisted blade opener.A very highly recommended knife except for wearing a suit or where it is not legal due to the blade length.

Most knife injuries occur because the user has a poor grip on the knife. Kershaw's Blur knife solves the problem with its unique anodized aluminum handle, which features advanced materials designed to provide a safe, secure grip every time--even under extreme conditions. In addition, the handle is CNC-machined to accept Trac-Tec inserts, giving your hand an even grippier surface. The Blur also sports the SpeedSafe ambidextrous assisted opening system. Invented by celebrated knife maker Ken Onion, the SpeedSafe system lets users smoothly and easily deploy the stone-washed, stainless-steel blade with either the left or right hand. This makes it ideal for sporting and work situations in which one-handed opening is easier and safer, such as when hunting, fishing, or working with your hands on the jobsite.

Finally, the Blur comes with a Kershaw pocket clip, which is meant to be clipped with the handle on the inside of your pocket. The clip is not to be worn on a belt, as this is an unsafe way to carry your knife.

The SpeedSafe assisted opening system lets you smoothly deploy the blade with 1 hand.
About the SpeedSafe System
The patented SpeedSafe knife-opening system helps users open the knife by applying manual pressure to the thumb stud or blade protrusion. The heart of the SpeedSafe system--which is built into many of Kershaw's best-selling knives--is its torsion bar, which keeps gravity from opening the knife. After the blade is out of the handle, the torsion bar moves along its half-moon track and takes over, smoothly opening the blade and locking it into position, ready for use. Although they may look similar at first glance, SpeedSafe knives are not considered switchblades. Unlike a switchblade, SpeedSafe knives do not deploy with the push of a button in the handle or by gravity alone. Instead, the user must manually overcome the torsion bar's resistance, putting the knives outside the federal definition of a switchblade. However, it's the responsibility of the buyer to investigate and comply with the laws and regulations that apply in his or her specific area. Buyers should rest assured, however, that SpeedSafe knives are extremely safe, as they open only when the user manually deploys them, and lock securely into position when open so they don't close accidentally.

Toughest EDC knife at any price.
I have been so impressed with the Zero Tolerance line of knives, I decided I would buy their latest superstar. The 0350. This knife was designed as a EDC carry variant of its big brother the 0300 line. As many of you know these knives are a direct collaboration with Strider knives and Ken Onion. One look at the the 0350 and you can see Striders handy work all through the knife. ZT states the 0350 is 10% smaller than the 0300 line. This number is very deceiving in real world carry. If you never were to handle the 0300 line, you would say the 0350 is a full mid size folder. "Over build" rings true across the 0350 as much as it does the 0300 line so again, the 10% smaller is kind of misleading .Its dimensions lend itself to a much more friendly EDC carry than the 0300 or 0200 line. The 0350 is flatter in design with rough G10 handles. The thick SS liners are just as impressive as the 0300. There is more steel used in the liner lock than most companies use as their...

Excellent EDC Knife
This knife is great. The s30v steel holds an edge beautifully. I carry this knife every day working in the shipping industry (cutting straps/cardboard). The speed safe opening mechanism is awesome. I recommend aquiring a t-6 torx bit if you like to carry your knife tip up. Also have a t-8 handy for blade adjustments. I will definately purchase another Zero Tolerance knife in the future.

It's a Tank
This is about as far from a gentlemen's folder as you can get.... As a reference, I have a couple Blur's, and this knife is substantially beefier than the Blur. But, if your looking for a great "blue collar" working carry, something for deployment, or just something to use on the weekends, this is it.You immediately notice top quality fit and finish with excellent materials in this knife. This knife is more comfortable in the hand than it's visual lines would suggest. The G10 handles are nice and grippy. The thumb stud is not of great use, but you won't miss it with the excellent flipper provided. I love my S30v Blur, but for a couple dollars more, this is a better value. I love my Benchmades, but if i want a heavy duty knife, this is superior. I haven't seen a better value from any "Made in the USA" manufacturer.

Product Description

In response to customer requests, ZT is proud to introduce the new 0350. It’s slightly smaller and slightly lighter than the 0300—10% to be precise—but just as aggressive. The 0350 is fully equipped with SpeedSafe® for one-handed assisted opening. Even in combat gloves, you can easily deploy the blade using the large, ambidextrous thumb stud or blade protrusion. The blade is S30V stainless steel with Tungsten DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coating. S30V provides extreme durability, while the black Tungsten DLC is non-reflective, enhances hardness, and reduces friction drag. Textured, matte-black G-10 scales provide a secure grip. Includes a quad mounting system for tip-up, tip-down, left- or right-handed clip carry. Top to learn more

With a tough stainless blade and grippy textured G-10 handle, the Zero Tolerance 350 folding knife is an ideal choice for law enforcement and military applications. The ZT350 is 10 percent smaller than the original ZT300, yet is just as aggressive. S30V stainless is the steel of choice for the ZT350 PlainEdge blade, which includes a non-reflective, low-friction black tungsten DLC (diamond-like carbon) coating. The G-10 handle, meanwhile, includes textured, matte-black scales to ensure a secure grip.

The knife is also outfitted with the patented SpeedSafe ambidextrous assisted opening system. You can even easily deploy the blade in combat gloves using the large, ambidextrous thumb stud or blade protrusion.

And the ZT350 is a breeze to carry thanks to the quad mounting system, which allows for tip-up, tip-down, left-handed, or right-handed clip carry. Bundled with a reversible pocket clip and lanyard hole, the knife measures 7-5/8 inches when open and weighs 6.2 ounces. Zero Tolerance gives a portion of the proceeds for the sale of its ZT350 to the Paralyzed Veterans of America Heritage Fund.

My Favorite Knife
I've got a relatively small knife collection (maybe 15 blades), but this is the one I tend to carry every day. I've got a few Kershaws, and the speed-safe opening is what initially attracted me to the brand. That said, while it's a cool way to open the knife, I've ultimately decided it's mostly a gimmick. I find it's just as fast, and somewhat easier, to open the knife with the thumb stud.My collection has 3 other kershaws: two chives and an avalanche. The leek is the best size for a carry/defensive knife. The blade is long without being cumbersome, and the shape is sleek and manageable. The knife is also good for chores, although for anything really heavy, I'd use a bigger blade like the avalanche or the blur. The black finish is nice -- although truthfully, my leek is titanium oxide (rainbow). One of my chives is black, though, and the finish is sleek and holds up well. This knife is definitely worth the price.

Great Pocket Knife
Overall this is a great little knife. It opens fast, is very sharp and holds it's edge well and feels good in your hand. The liner lock is great. I have used some others and absolutely hated them because they were so hard to operate. This one is smooth as silk and located in a great position. Very nicely designed.I did make a few changes which required going out and buying a torx screwdriver. First,I reversed the pocket clip because it came the facing the opposite direction I was used to on my Spyderco knives. Second, the safety had to go. I found it slipped to the "on" position on its own so the knife did not open when you expected it to and was hard to disengage quickly. Not because it was difficult to operate, rather it is tiny and hard to find blind. If you like the safety though, it definitely does prevent the blade from opening accidentally.Speaking of safety...the knife arrives razor sharp. I opened my package and promptly sliced a finger...

Kershaw Ken Onion Black Blur Folding Knife with Speed Safe

The speed safe on this is great. The Black Blur Folding Knife from Kershaw Ken Onion can be used for many utilitarian purposes, such as slicing, sawing, piercing, and cutting your way through many kinds of materials. Throughout production of the Blur, Kershaw has used three different types of steel and has developed a “born on” dating system to show customers which steel was used for their knife. *Two months into owning this knife, I was attacked and put to the ground in a choke hold, when my hand found this knife, you have no idea how relived I was. The Amazon listing for this knife is not correct, though, unless they are selling older versions of this knife. The Blur knife features the patented SpeedSafe assisted-opening system with torsion bar. The Blur is available with a serrated or smooth blade with a black or silver coating. Closed, the torsion bar helps keep the knife closed, preventing it from being opened by gravity. In order to open the knife, the user must apply manual pressure to the thumb stud to overcome the resistance of the torsion bar. SpeedSafe allows the user to smoothly open the knife with a simple push on the blades thumb stud. It opened perfectly and quickly with one hand, Great knife, exceptional quality and performance. It’s a beautiful and effective tool, I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a larger sized, quick opening pocket knife. I have put this knife through it all summer now using it from cutting cabbage, broccoli, and other veggies out of the garden to edging my sidewalk with it, and every other job imaginable. The handle has comfortable easy-grip Trac-Tec inserts to help you keep a firm hold on the knife even in wet or slippery conditions. The Blur blade is crafted of Sandvik stainless steel with a strong Tungsten DLC coating that keeps it sharp, even after heavy use.
