Takes me back 30 years
I used a similar book when I was learning to type on a manual typewriter 30 years ago! This was adapted for electric typewriters and even mentions word processors, so it has very slight modifications. This is not "fun" or "entertaining" like some of the typing programs out there, but I wanted my 9 and 6 year olds to learn to touch type the way I did. I put a piece of paper over the computer screen so the kids can't see what they are typing and used a black marker to cover the letters on the keyboard. I wanted to buy a new, inexpensive keyboard to blacken but my husband said to just color our keyboard in. I can type with my eyes closed (98 wpm the last time I tested in 1982) so I wasn't worried about finding the keys later. My kids have always been impressed with my keyboarding skill so they are motivated to learn so they can type like me. Since they know that I learned in a similar fashion they don't seem bothered that there are no pirate ships or fun games to motivate them...

It's an oldie but a goodie!
This book is old, there are directions on how to set your typewriter and mentions that data processing units are much faster than typewriters. All that aside, I used this book as a way to practice for my keyboarding class. My typing speed increased and I'm getting an A. Your results may vary but I got exactly what I wanted. It's just like a highschool typing class!

Okay...
For christmas I purchased my husband an electric guitar, he's never really played before so I figured I would get him a book that came with a CD to help him with the basics... The dang thing sits on our desk gathering dust. It just couldn't get him interested. The book is very formal and frankly boring, and I blame that for the reason he hasn't used it.The cd he has used a few times trying to learn a few different chords.

Great product
I really like this unit. It's a little on the small size for someone with big hands. Easy to use. The camera is really 5mp, interpolated to 12mp. The zoom only works for stills, not video. The IR source is a little weak for outdoors use, but is as advertised. That being said, the unit is easy to use and produces good images. It comes with all cables needed. I was surprised with the image quaility when played back on a large LCD TV. I would recomend this, The extra SD slot and dual power option are cool, as is the IR mode. If you have teenagers in the house you might need two of them, Really big hit with them. Is it my turn yet?

Brown is Purple HDMI controls and more
The main issue is that under any light except florescent light, the image on video and still camera turns everything purple or blue. Simple example: In my kitchen with florescent light, Blacks come out black and browns come out brown. In the living room under normal incandescent light bulbs my Dark Brown couch is bright purple. I took some video of my friends band and they looked like blue Smurfs on stage. I reset the camera to defaults and still same issue. I really think mine came with a defective ambient light sensor or something. Also, not all the commands or buttons work plugged into my TV with the HDMI cable. I have to start the video I want from the LCD then plug it into the TV and if I even try and fast forward or pause with the buttons it does all kinds of crazy things. There was no instructions on how to playback even when plugged into HDMI. The good side is that the video is not bad in 720p. You cannot use the zoom if in 1080p, I'm guessing it's all digital zoom...

Nicely done
Tiger Woods 08 is an excellent game for the Wii system. Using the remote as your golf club immerses you in the game. Even in the easy mode you have to pay attention to the lie, the wind, your club selection and your swing to be successful.Creating your player is wonderful with an almost infinite amount of customization. As you play you earn money and can buy equipment: everything from clothing and jewelry to shafts and club heads. Very nice.Tons of courses to choose from and lots of arcade and minigames to play means you'll never get bored with this game. It's also terrific with one player or four players.I'm blown away that some people complain about the graphics: I love the graphics especially since the Wii is not a next gen, over-priced system. It is FUN and isn't that what you want from a system?Tiger Woods '08 is a real winner. Video gaming doesn't get any better than this.

TW07 Wii was good--08 is great
When I got my Wii, I eagerly awaited the release of TW07--it was good--using the wiimote as a club worked quite well, but the controls seemed a bit twitchy, both in menus and also rarely when swinging the 'club'.TW08 is really what 07 should have been--yes the graphics are less than stellar, but they are significantly better than 07. The wiimote as golf club more than makes up for any missing graphical bliss--even my non-golfing friends that have seen this thought it would be fun. 08 also dropped the fantasy courses from 07 and added some more real courses--the missing fantasy ones are not a great loss to me, they were generally ridiculously difficult and a major obstacle for me completing the PGA tour portion of the game. I enjoy this game so much I'm thinking about taking up real golf again after 10 years of being away from the game--if only I could play as well as I do with the Wii......

Best Tiger Woods game yet!
I've played Tiger Woods 05/06/07 on PS2, and I always enjoyed them. But, with the Wii system, Tiger Woods 08 is THE best golf game I have ever played. It basically puts Wii Sports: Golf to shame. It is amazingly easy to learn and fun to create your own player. You can even try out the new FedEx Cup Playoff format. They even have minigames for you to play, such as putt-putt. Overall, Tiger Woods 08 for the Wii very well may compete as the best game to come out for the Wii. It uses the Wii controller features at all times and actually requires you to tune your golf swing for different situations.
