perfect label maker for the busy mom! (and anyone else too, really)
I borrowed a friend's Brother PT-1880, and then had to run out and get my own! Was thrilled to find it here on AZ for about half the going rate at brick & mortar shops. Not the flashiest model out there (and doesn't hook up to the computer), but I just didn't think the extra features were worth the mark-up for my needs. This one prints in two fonts plus various styles & sizes, includes a good number of symbols and frames, and is small and light enough to tote around to every room of the house - like I did. At one point I was standing enthralled in the center of my kitchen, just spinning around in rapture asking myself, "what ELSE needs a label on it?!" :-) So far the labels have worked in every application I could think of: from my cell phone charger to the shelves in the linen closet. I also labeled my toddler's sippy cups, and have been very pleased to discover that the labels will survive several rounds in the dishwasher while staying in perfect condition. Great labeller!
Have debated getting one of these for years, and after checking reviews on Amazon, decided on this one. Easy to use and set up (especially since my last labelling experience was on the old squeeze to imprint letters plastic tape!).The PT-1880 has: 2 fonts, 9 type styles, 6 type sizes, 3 type widths, 5 tape widths (9/64"-3/4" of TZ tape), plus underlining and boxing the text. The mandatory 1" lead is a bit frustrating, but unavoidable; you can only make the margin smaller on one side.From the Brother site:The one inch (25mm) piece of tape that is produced prior to every label cannot be eliminated due to the construction of the tape mechanism. Great tool for 5" pulls
We purchased 5" pulls, and could not find a template at the local hardware stores. We have templates from past installations, but not this size. Only Amerock had the template the size we needed. This came with the drill bit that helped with the install as well. Top to learn more
Loved this template
We purchased handles for our cabinets and did not even think we needed a template it install them (duh). We had to run the Home Depot to find one, but nothing could support the mm sizes we had. This is the only template set we found that could support the larger and small handles we purchased.Worked great and cheap, I would highly recommend this to a friend! Top to learn more
As advertised
Bought this to help me install Amerock door handles with 130mm spread. I didn't mount the handles near the lower corner of the doors, as most might do (and is probably the standard). I mounted them 3-4 inches higher, which I thought gave it a better look, as they were long handles. In order to use the door template for that, I had to grind off one of the guides that normally rested on the bottom of the door. I used a stationary belt sander, and that worked just fine. The drawer template worked fine without any adjustment. It was difficult to find a template that accommodates 130mm spread, so this was a welcome find. Top to learn more

the fuji system like any other system is not foolproof and you may need to tweek your rod build using several methods,this is what makes custom building fun and the true meaning of custom.
I ordered Hopkins and Holloway snake guides (hey they’re good enough for Sage) and I am somewhat dissapointed with the guide feet. I’m still waiting on my reel seat and spacer so in the interim I’ve mounted the tip top, located the spine/spline, marked the guide spacing on the blank, and rough fitted the cigar grip and nickel silver winding check. One thing that I’d like to add about components…if you plan on doing translucent wraps on your guides, the shape of the feet will matter as you’ll be able to see through the silk. If that doesn’t work I’ll be ordering some Snake Brand guides. I’m sure the guides themselves are of great quality and if I was using color preserver it wouldn’t matter but I’m not. I had hoped to have a new build for this late April-early May’s hatches here in Pennsylvania but the weather has been so temperate that most bugs have been emerging about 3 weeks early.
Spacing Issues While there are really very few websites with typography hierarchy issues, there are quite a lot with spacing issues related to their typography. As there must be a logic in spacing between all elements on a website, so there must be a logic in your typography spacing as well. Anyone who strives to have amazing typography must understand that print typography and web typography are totally different things. While tracking generates an equal amount of space between each character, kerning adjusts the space based on character pairs. In other words, typography is a simple arrangement in order to transmit a message, while good typography is the attention to visual accuracy and details, even the small ones. Web typography is just one of the most recent branches of the general typography concept. You can also experiment with bigger-sized typography (also called as macro typography) to achieve better results. Both print typography and web typography have their own rules and guidelines which must be respected. By using the Tracking tool, you can achieve almost the same effect, the only difference between Tracking and Kerning being the space generated. t specifically mean the color of your text which is usually of one color, instead they mean the over-all colors used on your website. Hierarchy While you may already be familiar with hierarchy in web design, you may feel that there is a hierarchy in typography as well. Kerning is the process of adjusting the spacing between characters in a font with the aim of achieving a more pleasant visual look. While images can also transmit a message, most of the content available on websites is made up of text, that is why so much attention has been given to web typography lately. Defined in a simple way, macro typography is the use of bigger-sized text for attention-grabbing purposes.
