Funniest album ever ... even if you are not a cat lover
The first time I heard Les Barker, I was in the car and the radio was playing his poem "Guide Cats for the Blind." I almost had to pull over I was laughing so hard. Clearly Barker knows cats! An incredibly prolific writer, this CD includes 40 of his poems and songs. Not one is a dud. Some are pure fun. Some are social and/or human commentary. Many take very familiar subjects and twist them in the most curious and satisfying ways. I promise you will not forget "Deja Vu."

Product Description
(2-CD set for the price of one CD) Strange songs and poems are Les Barker's specialty. The Financial Times praised his work as a ''blend of Edward Lear nonsense, Stanley Unwin wordplay, the surreal inconsequentiality of Reeves and Mortimer and the demotic robustness of Stanley Halloway monologues.'' Here he performs the first and last piece on this 40 track set, and his remaining works are brought to life by Terry Wogan, Mark & Lard, Ned Sherrin, Sir Jimmy Young, Charlotte Green, Johnnie Walker, June Tabor, Peter White, Ken Bruce, Sally Boazman and many others.
