Bring Pro-Audio to Consumer Cameras
I am the co-founder of a small hyperlocal video news company. When we started the business we obviously needed to extract as much value out of our gear as possible. That meant choosing consumer equipment for most of our production workflow, including using small Canon Vixia HD cameras over more expensive professional models.Of course good video requires good audio, and while the Vixia has a microphone port they don't work out of the box with high quality microphones. Very nice audio addition to your video equipment.
The BeachTek DXA-2T. I just received this wonderful little package today. So far in my initial testing, I really like this little guy. It has 2 balanced XLR connectors, which means, with an XLR connector and a good mic cable, you might go as much as 1,000 ft between the microphone and the camera (though I suppose your camera wouldn't shoot that far) It has very nice Neutrik connectors which are the best in the world. I tested it with a Shure SM57 and thought the audio was very nice. It has a switch so that you can get a single microphone to come into your camera as both left and right channel. It's balanced very well, and my Canon GL-2 had no problem standing on a table with the DXA-2T under it. Overall, my initial impression is that this is a VERY nice piece of gear. There is no phantom power, so you would need another add on piece if you wanted to use a condenser microphone.

Excellent Sound Solution for Interviews, Sturdy Construction
I use this adapter with a Panasonic HDC-TM700K for interviews and have been extremely pleased with its performance. One input is for the stick mic handled by the interviewer and the second input is for a lavalier mic on the subject. This adapter gives me fantastic flexibility for a wide range of voices. For interview situations, it's perfect for my needs.

My first question was whats the quality of the output.. I couldn't find anything on web so two examples of the video here .http://www.applemax.net/Main/Movie/Entries/2008/11/29_Little_Tikes_Video_Camera.htmlMax got one of those waterproof kids camera's for his birthday and I have to be honest I really was expecting a poor output, how wrong was I!Ok so the fact you have to unscrew the baseplate to get to the usb socket and the fact it records in ASF format so isn't that friendly but just look at the quality!!!!I think I needed Flip4Mac Studio to encode output after using MPEG Streamclip (freeware) - to covert from ASF but honestly I had this stuff anyway and I am OVER the MOON with the quality. Look out for more Video's of Max by Max..The Camera has 3 modes, Video, Replay and Camera. Camera picture are equally impressive!Max gets the controls but he does find it quite heavy to hold for long periods (When you are 3 that is about 30 secs)...

SO much fun
I bought this video camera for my son's 5th birthday. He loves it. He an my older son (he's 6) had a blast with it. They ran around taping anything and everything....laughing every step of the way. They made "shows" and just taped each other acting goofy. Once it lost it's "new" appeal, they didn't use it as much but they do still pick it up and have just as much fun as they did originally.

Waste of money
Bought this from etoys as a Christmas present for almost 4yr old. Good price of only $89.00. First problem was getting the cover off to insert batteries. After nearly 10 minutes we finally got it off and then noticed that we would have to take it off every time we wanted to download the footage. Might have been willing to overlook that if the image quality were not so poor no matter what the resolution. The shutter is very slow and is nearly impossible to prevent movement of the heavy camera. Before returning to etoys (who were great about handling the return) I was going to remove the batteries. After trying to get the cover off for 5 minutes I decided it was not worth my time or frustration. So glad I returned this camera.

Works great
Works with my Sony Xplod BT5700U headunit. Cable is long and thin so it can be easily tucked under trim panels. Comes with 2 adhesive clips to hold cable if you are running it under the dash. Other people say the hear me quite well. I have it attached to the visor though it can be mounted to dash with adhesive tape too. It rotates nearly 180 degrees.

Highly recommend this external microphone
I am using this external microphone with the Sony MEXBT3900U . I had the microphone and the car stereo installed at the same time, at Best Buy. I have found the quality of the hands-free calling over Bluetooth to be excellent. I can hear callers very well through my car speakers (it is loud and very easy to hear!). Callers can hear me very well, even at high speeds (with windows closed!). I haven't opened up the window going 55 mph and checked the quality of the call, since this is a not realistic condition for me; but, may be if you have a convertible I guess.I think the location where you install the microphone is very important. Using with Sony Explode 3800 and 3900 head units. (good units; 3900 is now a much better deal and unit) Under 25mph the internal mic is ok. Over 25mph road noise begins to consume the transmission of the internal mic. At highway speed, internal mic is absolutely useless. With this external mic at highway speeds, listeners tell me they can hear me GREAT. From useless to fantastic...for only 29 bucks.

I was so glad to find this product!
I thought I was going to have to cobble together various cords and plugs - until I found this great product. I bought two of them, and I we use them to play instrument apps on the iPhone and iPad. The length is just right for using on stage. The sound quality seems to be good. I also use it to play my iTunes music through the sound system. The right angle is very helpful if, like me, you are holding the device during use. It greatly reduces the risk of cord damage. Excellent product.
