A beautiful piece of furniture--from a kit!
I have purchased several sets of end tables (I use them as night tables) that came in the form of kits that required assembly because furniture kits are cheaper to buy and ship than pre-assembled furniture. Unfortunately, even though I've spent as much as $200 each for these do-it-yourself furniture kits, the finished product looks like what it is: cheap. As a result, every 2 years or so, I give the tables away and get another pair. I always tell myself: "No more kits; just get two good pieces, price be damned, and you'll have them forever." But the end tables I looked at in the $500-$1000 range, while nice, just didn't look like they were going to be worth shelling out that kind of dough. Then I came across these bamboo end tables. I knew that bamboo, with a grain every bit as beautiful as oak, teak, or walnut, was comparatively inexpensive because bamboo is plentiful. I love the design of these tables. They are strongly reminiscent of Jens Rissom end tables...

Product Description
Our 'Brazil' Ebony Side Table from Bamboogle insures that you're purchasing an item with special qualities hidden inside. It is machine tooled by hand, and made of solid bamboo with no veneers, filler wood, or particle board. It’s all bamboo, which is one of Earth's truly plentiful and sustainable resources. The clean lines of this piece, the slightly tapered legs, floating top design and the intricate laminations of bamboo work together to give a stylish and modern look that works in both traditional and contemporary settings. Bamboo is a good source for furniture as it is 15-Percent harder than maple which ensures long lasting beauty and strength. If it’s a beautiful piece of handmade-handtooled furniture that you are after, then you have it here. If you want to do your small part in following the trend toward environmental sensitivity, the story gets better. Bamboo is a remarkable natural resource for several reasons. It grows in vast densely packed forests and must be harvested to keep the trees from overcrowding. Our bamboo comes out of the ground 8”-10” in diameter and grows 2-3 feet per day for thirty days until it reaches nearly 100 feet in height. This tremendous growth consumes massive amounts of the 1 greenhouse gas, carbon dioxide, which mostly comes from emissions of factories and cars. It also produces pure oxygen at a rate that exceeds any forest in the world. These forests require no fertilizers or chemical treatments of any kind. Bamboo is truly one of Earth's good partners and you’re part of it if you purchase products made from bamboo. You may know that the beautiful Pandas eat bamboo as their primary food source, but interestingly, the one species of bamboo that they choose not to eat is the very species that we use in our furniture. So it’s a win-win for you, Pandas, and the Earth. Thank you for taking an interest in our furniture Top to learn more
